Title: A research in light colour in determining
time and creating dramatic effect for animation
Abstract:
Light is very useful in establishing the time of day. Intensity,
direction, colour and size is the main component of light.
Time plays the important role in determining the light colour.
There are studies about on how colour can effect on human
psychology mood and feeling. Colour in animation also can
help audience understand on what the certain time, mood and
the theme of a story.
As in computer 3D, lights are designed to simulate how lighting
works in real life and correct application of them will give
moods and enhances the animation. So, the goal of lighting
in animation is trying to create and stimulate a realistic
rendering as same as the real world. The correct application
on light colours should helps enhancing the mood and giving
a style to the animation. Dramatic scene is where the story
is given a characteristic or effect through action, emotion
or expression.
The thesis will be able to be a reference on how to choose
the right light colour for the right time and mood for delivering
dramatic effects and to enhance the animation. Instead of
using basic lighting, it will help in giving more meaning
to the animation. A survey on different perceptions of colour
through survey will be made and to analysis the colour generated
by time.
